Hot, warm or cold: Applications for every taste.
The LÄRCHENHOF is a place to live.
With us you should feel at home. Experience an honest vacation without Schicki Micki, without animation programs that you absolutely have to try and that ultimately leave your relaxation behind.
This also applies to the wellness area, which is why we have now expanded our Thermarium, based on the ancient Roman model, but this time we have stayed true to the traditional Alpine style and have furnished the new area with local rustic woods.
Here, cozy comfort is in the foreground. With a view of the great mountain world around the Großglockner, which is certainly a unique, large wellness application in itself.
A balanced mixture of special qualities!
Be pampered from morning to bed
Sweat profusely or warm up gently. Cool down in the crisp mountain water pour. Let yourself be sprinkled with the tropical mist. End an active day in the Finnish sauna or just relax. “How” is a question of temperament. What it does is in any case beyond doubt: bathing in the Lärchenhof, in harmony with the Heiligenblut stimulating climate, is always a treat – for body, mind and soul!
Our spacious stone pine sauna is the heart of the NEW wellness area. Anyone who has been out on the slopes in the Großglockner / Heiligenblut ski area all day deserves an extensive sauna session. The pleasant smell of the stone pine caresses the senses, while your tired muscles recover from the strenuous day. You will be able to start again in top shape tomorrow.
This “Finnish sauna”, the temperature in the solid pine wood chamber is around 90 ° C, is mainly used to toughen up against colds. The increase in body temperature up to 39 ° C during the sweating phase – artificial fever – has the same effect within the body as a real fever, namely increased activity of immune cells.
The sequence of heat followed by a cold bath relaxes the muscles and, in addition to some physiological effects such as a short-term strong increase in blood pressure, stimulation of the circulation, metabolism, the immune system and breathing, above all also has a beneficial effect on subjective well-being.
Sauna bathing is also used for skin care and slows down skin aging. Immediately after entering the sauna room, the skin reacts, the blood vessels dilate, the blood flow increases and the surface temperature rises to 40–42 ° C after about 15 minutes. The cooling down phase in which the blood vessels constrict again due to the application of cold water is a real vascular training.
The sweating as well as the repeated water applications also cause a very thorough but gentle body cleansing. The uppermost horny layer of the skin swells, keratinized skin cells loosen and can be easily rinsed off. With very dry skin, the structure is improved by activating the sweat glands and water retention in the horny layer.
The Finnish sauna is particularly beneficial after an active day in the fresh air. People with inflammation, acute infectious diseases, cardiovascular diseases, venous thromboses or varicose veins are generally not advised to visit a sauna, hammam, banya or steam bath. If necessary, older people should ask their family doctor.
If you don’t like it that hot and “sweaty” infusions are not on your list, then our organic and alpine herbal sauna is the right thing for you. At lower temperatures of 50 – 60 ° and humidity of up to 45%, the airways are happy and the skin becomes soft and supple. Here, too, there are special infusions with chamomile, eucalyptus, mint or lavender, whereby the essential oils ignite their beneficial effects and the metabolism is positively stimulated.
In the caldarium, mild radiant heat is combined with steam. 42 ° C are ideal for the care of skin, hair and respiratory organs. Temperature, steam and revitalizing aromatic eucalyptus oil support detoxification and serve as a treatment for your lungs, especially when you are exposed to smoke. Duration approx. 20 minutes. The caldarium can also be used as a preparation room for a hotter Finnish sauna.
The ancient Greeks invented the laconium. The Romans adopted it in their thermal baths. In the dry sweat room, the even radiant heat emanates from the stone walls and floors, as well as the seating and lying areas. The temperature is around 65 ° C. The body begins to sweat slowly but intensely. Sweating in the laconium is a recommended alternative for all people who find it simply too hot in a traditional sauna at temperatures of 90 ° C and more. The humidity is around 15-20%.
In the infrared cabin or infrared cabin, the body is not heated by hot room air, but by infrared radiation. The advantage of the effect on the body can be explained by the special rays that penetrate deep into the skin and generate deep heat there. This stimulates the tissue to initiate self-healing processes. In addition, the warmth relaxes tension. The infrared effect is particularly good for general physical exhaustion or for large areas of tension. The use of these diseases is particularly beneficial:
Back pain and joint pain, lumbago
Muscle tension, strains
Rheumatism, arthritis
Sleep disorders, difficulty concentrating
After a sauna session followed by an ice-cold shower, there is hardly anything better than lying down on a bed that is adapted to the body and also preheated to relax. You don’t necessarily have to be a Kneipp fan to enjoy the soothing warmth that penetrates the body from its back. The mild radiant heat offers relaxation in any case. It relieves muscle spasms and has a harmonizing effect on body and mind.
… finished with the infusion and sweating? Then now is the time to have a really good time. Your personal bathrobe is already waiting for you. Cuddle up and take a seat on one of the five Siesta Nature wellness loungers or let your mind wander in one of our three floating loungers. Your back hurts from stressful everyday life or from constant stress? Then take a seat on one of our infrared loungers and let the warmth ignite your beneficial effects.
Water isn’t just for washing. Our water snail invigorates, refreshes and cares. First you pinch, then you cool down in a cool spray mist to really enjoy the warm tropical rain afterwards. The end is a full-body water massage.
Relax, calm down, enjoy the view. Exactly what you want after a sauna session or a hearty infusion. You can relax particularly well in our panorama relaxation room, cuddle up in your bathrobe, enjoy the warmth and your view of the highest mountain peaks in the country – holidays can be so beautiful!
Stone pine is one of the finest woods in the Alps, so just good enough to be used in our new stone pine panorama relaxation room. The air-purifying effect, the antibacterial surface and the calming effect on body and mind are the properties that you will particularly love about our stone pine relaxation room. We do it!
